I am not surprised it came to this actually. As much rhetoric and hate being spewed in the name of being re-elected or just straight political warfare. As usual the public pays the price one way or another.  I watched a few news programs this morning with round-tables of congressmen/woman asking for this to be a wake up to the American public and Washington D.C..

In many ways, the American public are not the ones who deserve a lecture here. It is those in Congress and the political landscape who over the years have adopted a "Get them before they get you" mentality when it comes to securing a seat in Washington. The Media for picking up on it and turning it into a ratings game, and finally those in society who are incapable of formulating an educated opinion of their own and are driven more by their ears and emotions as dictated by others (Politicians/Media). This is something that should be a wake up call for those individuals. I don't need an education on civility and a proper debate.

Our democracy is turning into a 3-ringed circus and very few are truly concerned about the growth and prosperity of America rather than their own political gains.  For those who laud her, seriously, Palin specifically, needs to back off of her "Annie Oakley" political image and begin to learn and join a logical debate about the future of this country instead of inciting what can only be described as a counter movement to a democracy designed to represent, not convert or overthrow those of differing opinions.
