Apple updates AirPort Utility and the long overdue Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update adding support for the new Nikon D7000 RAW format.
This weekend the girls are off to London to visit a new member to the family. It has been a weekend that the boys have found to be long over due. Late morning sleep-in's. No agendas. Just playing it by ear and enjoying the things that boys enjoy. We went bike riding to a playground which is something that little man loves doing, while I dusted off the Nikon D200 as part of my revitalization effort to get back into taking my photography a bit more serious as I work more on theDongle website. I took a few pictures today and call this one of my top 10 shots of the day. The rest I plan on playing around with on the iPad and some of the awesome photo applications out there for the iPad lately. >> All of the things I am/will be doing going forward will be geared towards providing more content for theDongle. PixelPipe is one of my most favorite tools to distribute my photos. What I have not utilized to its fullest yet is the ability to also distribute video and text to all of the various social sites I have. I will be exploring this service more indepth to see how much juice I can squeeze through these pipes.
One the biggest problems with shooting pictures or video has to do with movement. Whether you shoot with a large SLR camera or a mobile phone, the problem is the same. Without becoming one with the earth, your shots will always have some impact by movement however slight it may be. So why the zen reference with becoming one with the earth? Simple, the earth is the most stable thing around you. Building foundations rest on it, chairs sit on it, cars drive on it and for the most part anything touching it is as stable as you can possibly get. So when possible, stop thinking that your hands and legs can hold your camera still enough to get a good shot. [read more...]
