The Project

It has been about 2 years now that we have lived in this house.  There have always been two areas that have completely bothered us from day one.  That would be the main bathroom which is just horrendous while the other being the kitchen.  More than likely renovated in the 1980's, the kitchen was long overdue for an overhaul.  The last time we did this we did it in an old 1924 victorian and the end result was amazing.  Although this Cape Cod style home has a smaller kitchen foot print, I think we can do some pretty nice upgrades and designs.  We won't be gaining much in the way of foot-space, but the overall feel should be quite open and roomy.  Much more so than the 'cell' feeling you get today.

So like unlike last time, I intend to post about the whole process.  Its going to get quite interesting in here.

Shirokane Reform

Just when you thought it was safe to go into the bathroom. “Team Wada” will be at it again as the Shirokane Reform moves into Phase 2.  For those who know us, you are well aware of the pain we have gone through on the housing front and getting settled. For those who don’t, we basically bought, destroyed and rebuilt a nice apartment in a great location in Tokyo standards. There were some parts of the new apartment that we chose not to do right away and now is when we pick up on that part of it. So……. we asked for, and today “Team Wada” presented the estimate. Won’t tell you how much, but needless to say, it ain’t pretty. Neither is the current state of what we are about to do.

First and foremost is the wicked, dungeon like bathroom. The other part of this reform is sort of unexpected. But then again so was she. I am referring to our beloved Sammy (See other parts of this site for more info on her.)  Will definitely keep everyone in the loop on the progress behind this project. No different that I did the first time around.
